Marsee Corona Tank Bag: No Magnets, Straps or Limes Needed! Hot

CoronaTankBag

I'm always looking for innovative luggage systems for my sport-bike.  I ride a lot, and I want to take stuff with me.  However, I don't really want big, ugly, permanent racks attached all over my bike.  Enter the Marsee Corona tank bags.

I have used both magnetic and strap-mounted tank bags for years.  They are versatile, convenient, and relatively cheap.  However, both types of tank bags have one thing in common - they sit on your tank.  Since the top of your tank is one of the most visible areas of your bike, the possibility of scratches is a real concern.  Just mount a magnetic bag with an unnoticed screw or staple hiding on the underside and see what happens.

The Corona bags attach via a unique mounting system which incorporates a relatively unobtrusive ring on the fuel filler mouth.  The mating surface of this mount is attached to the bag.  A simple insertion and rotation locks the two in place.  The key feature is that once mounted, the bag resides above (not on) the top of the tank.

If you were to combine the Marsee Corona with the Cycle Guys' side bags I reviewed recently, you'd have a system that leaves very little on the bike when the luggage is removed.  The Corona comes in 10 and 20 liter options. There are mounts for many motorcycle brands, and several optional accessories are available.  The larger Corona retails for about $225.
