K&L Fat Jack Center Jack Review Hot

FatJack

I find working on motorcycles to be a great form of therapy.  In my mind, it ranks just behind actually riding motorcycles.  However, bike maintenance can be an act of frustration without the proper tools.

A well-designed motorcycle lift is a must have item in the do-it-yourself garage.  The K&L Fat Jack Center Jack has some features that make it a nice little bike lift.  First, it compresses to a very flat profile making it very versatile in tight clearances.  Fully compressed, the unit is only 3.5” high.  The one downside to this low profile is that it forces the use of a screw-type scissors lift.  While very rugged and fool-proof, it does take some cranking to get the job done.

Another nice feature of the Fat Jack is that it has a nice, wide non-skid platform.  It is a very stable design.  The working surface is 16” by 10”.

The design of the Fat Jack makes it ideal for use with a full sized table lift.  With this unit, you can lift the front or the back of the motorcycle while it is elevated on the larger lift. The unit has a maximum working height of 13”.

One note of caution, this type of lift will not work with bikes that have full lower fairings or under-frame exhausts. The lift retails for under $300.
