The specifications of the first-ever Valentino Rossi Netbook were released by Packard Bell this weekend. The “dot VR46” (Rossi’s name and his racing number) is an 11.6” netbook, which is a small, light and inexpensive laptop suited for general computing and accessing Web-based applications.
The dot VR46 is the first in planned range of netbooks featuring the nine-time world champion’s helmet design. Expected to be a great piece of Valentino Rossi merchandise, the dot VR46 features the famed sun and moon design that is featured on the 2009 MotoGP Champion’s helmet; Rossi said the helmet’s design reflects the two sides of his personality.
The Rossi model netbook will feature 1366x768-pixel display in a glossy black case featuring the Rossi graphics.
As for technical features, the VR46 is a Windows 7 Home Premium model, powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, featuring a 640GB hard drive. It comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, an HDMI port, a webcam and a five-in-one card reader.
According the the UK site PC Advisor, the full-size keyboard will have a multi-gesture touchpad. A 3G mobile broadband module will be available as an optional extra. The netbook weighs 1.35kg. Its six-cell battery should last for up to eight hours between charges.
The Packard Bell dot VR46 will cost £449.99 in Great Britain for the standard specification; this equals to $703.47 in American funds at the current exchange rate.
A launch date has yet to be announced.
